Hot Lunch Program
The SSPP Hot Lunch program is a service provided by the SSPP Parents' Association, designed to add some variety to your student's lunch. We do our best to choose nutritious, well-balanced meals at a reasonable price. Finding meals that appeal to students in grades K-8 is challenging, and being able to serve them in less than an hour is even more so. Contracts with vendors have already been negotiated for the school year, so if there is a lunch that does not fit your needs, we suggest you send your child with a lunch from home on that day. Feel free to order 2 of any lunch if your child has a bigger appetite.
We are pleased to continue the Hot Lunch program 5 days a week, Monday-Friday. We have added sack lunches for Thursdays as an option for those families that have their children attending the aftercare program. Please pay close attention in your selections, as credit requests will not be permitted if a day is chosen in error and the day has passed or the order has already been submitted to the vendor.
Some important points to remember:
- Please, take the time to fill the orders out correctly and thoroughly. Make sure to fill out the form with student name and grade. Double-check your math (or your child's math!). It saves so much stress in the long run to all involved. Keep a copy of your order. The office does not keep this information.
- Please note that each month's lunch menu will have a "deadline" to place your order for the entire month.
- Lunch orders that are incomplete (i.e. illegible, no payment, missing information) will not be processed and may be returned.
- Please include your phone number and email just in case we have a question regarding your order.
- Please pay attention to the deadline for turning in orders (see above). There is a chain of events that needs to take place to provide an entire month's worth of lunches; late orders straggling in interfere with this process. Please do not put Office Staff or Hot Lunch Coordinators in a difficult position by asking them to accept a late order.
- There will be no credits issued for missed lunches for any absences - check calendars for field trips, family vacations, errors in day's chosen, etc. before turning in orders.
